Local Governments Deliver Winning
Technology Solutions
01/27/03
Washington D.C.
PTI, a national non-profit technology research and
development organization for local governments announces
the winning entries for its 2002 Technology Solutions
Awards program.
The PTI Technology Solutions Awards is a national
program recognizing local governments that use
technology to increase revenues, improve service to
their community, save tax dollars, or improve
management. Entries were judged with jurisdictions of
similar size in Energy, Environment, Public Safety,
Telecommunications & Information Technology, and
Transportation categories based on technology employed
and services delivered.
"The PTI Technology Solutions Awards program continues
to bring together the finest solutions at the local
government level," said PTI President Costis Toregas.
"What makes these entries so impressive is the
jurisdictions' willingness to do something different in
the public sector to benefit the people they serve. What
has impressed me in the past about these entries is that
cities and counties continue to look at various uses of
technology, both within, and just as important, outside
the acknowledged IT arena."
